Autodesk, a world leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, is seeking an innovative, experienced and results-driven Human Resources Director for our Marketing organization based in our San Francisco, California office.  In the role, this individual will drive divisional and company HR programs and initiatives including organizational change, workforce planning and development, and performance management practices. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources responsible for Autodesk Worldwide Sales and Corporate Centers. This individual will be a member of the senior management team for Marketing and playing a key role in driving the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic plans and objectives
  • Drive division HR strategy through creation of the Human Resource Plan to meet organization objectives
  • Act as a strategic business partner, change agent and member of the line management staff
  • Drive organizational structure, content of jobs, and establishment of performance standards within the client group. Review and provide guidance on promotional and compensation change decisions
  • Oversee company-wide and division-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, stock option grants, workforce planning and organizational change) within client group. Ensure desired behaviors are identified and reinforced in salary, bonus and stock option programs
  • Bring in HR functional specialists in training, compensation, organizational design, and staffing as appropriate and positions positively with the client group
  • Monitor effectiveness of all HR policies, practices and processes to determine efficiency and effectiveness. Recommend improvements to achieve and deliver improved results
  • Effectively facilitate acquisitions, redeployments, and staffing within the client group
  • Manage employee relations issues within the division
  • Ensure comprehensive development and succession plans are in place for key positions. Drive manager and employee development efforts throughout client groups including leading skills development workshops, encouraging participating in training and development, and working with managers to create development plans
  • Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address root causes of human resources issues. Coach managers and employees at all levels within client groups on a variety of topics including management skills, professionalism, conflict management, and communications
  • Influence senior management across the company to clarify and resolve divisional business and communication issues and improve overall organizational effectiveness
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of HR strategic plans to support the company’s objectives
  • Participate with other senior division/client group management staff to establish corporate policy. Work with senior HR staff to set priorities and direction of HR initiatives that link to business objectives
  • May be responsible for management and development of HR support staff (including remote workers, in different time zones).

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of progressively complex human resources experience required preferably in a high tech environment
  • 5+ years experience in a management level role
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations required
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies and practices, compensation and benefits, organization change and effectiveness
  • Strong leadership skills and experience influencing at senior levels in an organization
  • Ability to work as and be viewed as a trusted business partner to the organization
  • Clear and concise interpersonal communication
  • Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels, within managerial/leadership and non-managerial employee groups
  • Strong problem solving skills and experience
  • Familiarity with global workforce management issues and international employment policy Previous Global HR experience preferred
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
